A Galician philology graduate from the University of Vigo, Gonzalo Vázquez mastered in comparative theoretical studies of culture and literature at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
From the beginning, he has expanded his language and literature studies with a focus on the arts, of which fashion design has had a priority. His brand, GV, was born as a result of this interdisciplinary activity (literature/fashion design) and as a vector for his discourse.
Thanks to his unique perspective of fashion, he has been selected for several artistic exhibitions, amplifying the prefigured eidos of the catwalk vis-à-vis the space of art. He exhibits his works at interdisciplinary events in Pontevedra, Santiago de Compostela, as well as in Oporto (Portugal) and Torino (Italy).
As a teacher, he gives classes in fashion semiotics, fashion sociology and history of Spanish fashion at Sorbonne University in Paris. Since 2012, he has been teaching language and literature at the Sorbonne as well as The Cervantes Institute.
Gonzalo has been holding conferences and seminars at the University of Udine, the University of Urbino (Italy), and at the University of Oporto (Portugal). He has been directing and organizing several events and congresses in Spain and France. He also frequently collaborates with the press on articles about literature, the arts and fashion.
He currently lives in Paris, devoted to teaching as well as participating in several artistic and investigation projects along with managing his brand.
